Scope of Work:
Clients from across the Pacific, working locally to achieve success.
Operating within Salem, Oregon, Shinsegai Group/Chang Tuh Corp worked with a local design team including Central Geotech to design a new 22,500 sf facility for the processing of heat and serve food products. Central additionally provided onsite observation and testing throughout the construction work phase.
This project was especially challenging, given the confined work area, unexpected soil conditions, and heavily loaded slab-on-grade requirements involving cold storage facilities. To overcome these challenges, a full investigation and analysis was completed to provide the needed parameters for a more precise design. Delivered on time and on budget, the knowledge of the soil conditions and local jurisdictional requirements translated to a great reduction of risk for our Client.
Features:
- Confined work area, unexpected soil conditions, and heavily loaded slab-on-grade requirements
- Delivered on time and on budget
- Provided onsite observation and testing throughout the construction work phase
- Quick turnaround for increments of lab testing
- Knowledge of the soil conditions and local jurisdictional requirements
Results:
Geotechnical observation and testing (Special Inspections) were accomplished during construction to ensure design intent and recommendations were carried over directly through the General Contractor. Central’s presence onsite helped to guide the contractor through exacting specifications and requirements. Central’s in-house soils laboratory provided quick turnaround for increments of lab testing, ensuring correct imported soil and rock was placed in accordance with local code parameters.
