Port of Camas-Washougal

Scope of Work:

Central Geotech was contacted by MacKay Sposito and Port of Camas-Washougal for geotechnical recommendations regarding a proposed street extension adjacent to a known wetland area in Washougal, Washington. The goals of the project include construction of a new roadway (41st Street) to link two existing streets (Lincoln and Grant) and allow access to proposed industrial lots, delineation of the existing wetland area and construction of a new roadway/utility crossing, construction of new sanitary and water mains to service the proposed lots, construction of stormwater treatment facilities, installation of electrical infrastructure to support the proposed developments, and redesigned landscaping around the proposed developments to minimize negative effects on the existing wetland area.

Subsurface investigation was conducted by Central Geotech in March of 2023, in the form of six drilled geotechnical borings and four DCP soundings at calculated locations across the project site. The borings were advanced using both hollow-stem auger and solid-stem auger (with mud rotary) drilling techniques. Collected soil samples were visually evaluated and classified in the field, and brought to our soils laboratory for further analysis.
